Kolkata: Eastern Railway in collaboration with Food Safety & Standard Authority of India organised a food safety training where 16 Joint Food Safety Commissioners and 16 designated officers, mostly of railway medical officers participated from various Zones of Indian Railways and Workshops.
The orientation of the training programme was concentrated on the duties and responsibilities of the designated officers of Indian Railways regarding Food Safety, Food Safety & Standard Act, procedure of sampling of food, surveillance, monitoring and risk allowance, adjudication, packaging & labeling and also understanding and documentation of regulatory compliance.
