Six food business operators fined Rs 60,000 in Srinagar

Six business operators were fined Rs 60,000 for selling and processing food articles in unsanitary condition in Srinagar, an official spokesman said here this evening.
He said a team of officers of Food Safety headed by Assistant Commissioner Food Safety inspected various areas of Srinagar district today.
During the inspection, on the spot tests of milk and milk products were conducted by virtue of mobile testing laboratory. On the basis of results of samples ten quintals of milk was destroyed on spot.
The milk suppliers and vendors were warned not to supply substandard milk to consumers.
The adjudicating officer Srinagar imposed a fine of Rs 60,000 on six food business operators for selling and processing food articles in unsanitary condition.
